Establishment description: Kenjara Lodge is a homely Country Retreat nestled in the heart of the “Cradle of Humankind”. The surrounding area was declared a WORLD HERITAGE SITE in 1999, an area of 48 000 hectares. Kenjara Lodge is small and comfortable and tastefully decorated in an True African Theme. Kenjara Lodge is the perfect place for a break away from the hustle and bustle of the city life, we have comfortable accommodation, good food and excellent service. We are just 30 minutes from Johannesburg, Midrand and Pretoria and 20 minutes from Krugersdorp and Roodepoort, makes us easily accessible and you can come and relax and unwind, in the tranquillity of our gardens and surroundings. Situated only 1 km from the Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve, you can fall asleep to the sounds of lions roaring. Game Drives can be arranged in the Park where you can see White Lion, Tawny Lion, Cheetah, Wild Dog, Tiger, Hippo, Rhino, Eland, Wildebeest, Buffalo, Sable and many other species. The Retreat is perfect venue for Conferences, Corporate Brainstorms, Team Building Initiatives, Weddings, Family Gatherings, Birthday Bashes, or Just a Romantic Getaway! We have 3 Spacious Double Rooms all with double beds, all the rooms are en-suite with a shower (one room has a shower and a bath), there are TV’s in the rooms and tea and coffee making facilities. All rooms have their own entrances with a patio to sit out on and relax. TWIN OR DOUBLE ROOMS: We have 5 Spacious Twin or Double Rooms all with 2 single beds or beds will be pushed together to make a king bed, all rooms are en-suite with a shower (one room has a bath), there are TV’s in the rooms and tea and coffee making facilities. All rooms have their own entrances with a patio to sit out on and relax. FAMILY ROOMS: We have 2 types of Family Rooms: Family room with loft: We have 2 Spacious Family Rooms with King Bed or 2 Single Beds downstairs and 2 Single Beds upstairs in a loft, all rooms are en-suite with showers. There are TV’s in the rooms and tea and coffee making facilities and mini lounge. Both rooms have their own entrances and are next door to each other, overlooking the pool and garden. *Rooms are suitable for 4 adults sharing but please note the rooms do not have separate bed rooms it is an open plan room and lounge downstairs and open loft. Family room with bunk beds: We have 4 Spacious Family Rooms with King Beds or 2 Single Beds and bunk beds for the children, all rooms are en-suite with showers only. There are TV’s in the rooms and tea and coffee making facilities and mini lounge. All rooms have their own entrances and are next door to each other. *Rooms are suitable for 4 adults sharing but please note the rooms do not have separate bed rooms it is an open plan room with beds and mini lounge. *OPTIONAL EXTRA’S FOR ALL ROOMS 1. Chilled Champagne or Sparkling Wine in rooms on arrival 2. Rose Petals spread around room and lovely Bunch of Roses 3. Candles in room 4. Cheese and Pate Platter in room 5. Private Dinner for Two We unfortunately do not have a Honeymoon Suite, but our Room 1 or Room 8 or Room 10 can be ideally used and decorated for Honeymoon evenings or Romantic evenings. Meals description: Kenjara’s popular a-la-carte restaurant offers a variety of dishes which are prepared by our Qualified Chef and Lodge Owner, Jack Hewitt. Dishes range from Traditional & Wholesome meals to Jack’s speciality Game Dishes. Our menu offers a selection of Breakfast, Starters, Salads, Chicken Dishes, Beef, Pork, Lamb Dishes, Pasta Dishes, Fishes Dishes, Game Dishes and small selection of Desserts. For the not so hungry we have a Bar menu with a variety of Sandwiches, Burgers, Pizza’s, Snack Platter and many more. We also have a fun menu for the kiddies to choose from. We have a selection of Evening Specials running from Tuesday to Sunday, every week something new, Specials include 2 Starters, 5 Main Dishes and 2 Desserts. Meals can be enjoyed in our African Dining Room or when weather permits, in the gardens outside. We also have our Boma for Traditional Braais, Poitjies ect. If you are wanting something a little more romantic for a special occasion , a private dinner for two can be arranged in our gardens or on our function deck. For an unforgettable experience we can take you in Kenjara’s very own Game Drive vehicle on an early morning or sun downer game drive, through the exciting “Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve” or the “Krugersdorp Game Reserve” or a full day game drive through the “Pilanesberg National Park” RHINO & LION NATURE RESERVE Situated within the picturesque and beautiful Kromdraai Valley. Some of the animals that you will get to see are White Rhino, Hippo, Lion, Cheetah, Wild Dog, Eland, Gemsbok and many more. Game Drive is approximately 4 hours long. KRUGERSDORP GAME RESERVE The Park is 1500ha large and is home to 4 of the big 5, Giraffe, hippo and 28 various species of game, The reserve has lion enclosure and the largest bird aviary in South Africa. Game Drive is approximately 4 hours long. PILANESBERG NATIONAL PARK The Park is home to lion, leopard, black and white rhino, elephant and buffalo – Africa’s Big 5. Brown Hyena, the fleet-footed cheetah, the majestic sable, as well as giraffe, zebra, hippo and crocodile to name a few can also be seen here.
