The menu also unmasks gourmet game dishes to mirror the wilderness and abundance of the Madikwe Game Reserve.

Using only the freshest seasonal ingredients, the accent falls on local produce to arouse the senses, with each meal flawlessly matched with award-winning South African wines and a breathtaking setting.

After an exhilarating early morning game drive guests can enjoy an unhurried, seasonal inspired breakfast on the lower deck overlooking the watering hole as nature shows off its wildlife theatre.

Afternoon High Tea:
Afternoon High Tea caters for a sumptuous al fresco affair with guests indulging in divine delicacies as cheeky monkeys leap through the trees.

Dinner:
Dinnertime is a lavish feast, whether enjoyed formally in the elegant dining room with crystal and chandeliers or outside where the glow of a Boma fire and the singing of the ethnic choir serve up the perfect backdrop to gourmet excellence under African skies.

Game drives

Royal Madikwe is unlike any other luxury safari destination and welcomes families with children of all ages.

Children are stimulated, educated and entertained by their bush surroundings with loads of fun activities, ensuring they get the most of their wilderness adventure.

Leisure activities for the little ones include special Bush Bay Safaris; arts, crafts and jewellery making lessons with a colourful African twist; animal spotting; treasure hunts and popular bush baking sessions which creatively push their culinary skills to the extreme.

CONDITIONS OF RESERVATION / CANCELLATION POLICY

RATES INCLUDE: Exclusive use of residence * Accommodation in Royal suite, family suite or luxury suites * All meals and local beverages * All safari activities including game drives and bush walks * Return transfers from Madikwe Airstrip to the lodge * Personal escort off international flight and assistance through immigration, baggage claim and customs on arrival at Johannesburg International Airport * Reserve entry fees *

RESERVATION PROCEDURE: A written request is required to proceed with a reservation. Written confirmation of the reservation is forwarded via e-mail. Once the reservation is confirmed the client is liable for cancellation fees.

PAYMENT: A 25% deposit will secure the reservation upon written confirmation. Deposits made to guarantee reservation are non-refundable. The 25% deposit can be paid 10 days after confirmation or a guarantee must be provided that the 25% deposit will be paid 8 weeks prior to arrival. Full and final payment is due 4 weeks prior to arrival. There is a 3% surcharge on credit card payments. Extras may be settled at the residence. Diners and American Express cards are not accepted for payment at the residence. Rates are valid at the time of booking, but until such time as full and final payment has been received, the price is subject to change without notice. In the unlikely event of there being an unscheduled postponement of a reservation caused by bad weather strikes or any other matter beyond our control, it is understood that expenses incurred will be for the client's account.

CANCELLATION: Cancellations are only effective on receipt of written notification. Cancellation penalties are levied as follows: Less than 6 weeks notice prior to arrival - 50% of total invoiced amount. Less than Four weeks notice prior to arrival - 100% of total invoiced amount. Cancellation penalties for Easter, 1June-31July and 21 Dec -4Jan –less than 12 weeks notice prior to arrival – 100% of total invoiced amounts. In the event of premature departure the full extent of the stay, as originally booked and confirmed, will be charged. Refunds of deposits/prepayments for bookings are at the discretion of management and are dependent on the ability to re-let the residence.

INSURANCE: It is strongly recommended that all clients take out comprehensive travel insurance including full medical cover, as well as cancellation and curtailment cover.

TRANSFERS TO ROYAL MADIKWE: Please refer to our reservations office for road or air transfer requests. “The owners, management and employees of Royal Madikwe shall not be held responsible or liable in any way in the event of death, injury or disability of any Royal Madikwe guest, or any loss of property or damage to property belonging to any Royal Madikwe guest that may occur during the transfer of guests by any transfer company to or from Royal Madikwe, either by road or by air travel”.

CHILDREN: The dangerous nature of the wilderness environment must be taken into account when booking children on a safari. A child -minding service is available by special arrangement, but parents/ guardians are solely responsible for children around unfenced pools and high decks. All ages welcome. No children under the age of four are allowed on game-drives.
